Gracie & Heather's Story:

Please help me collect donations for CURE Childhood Cancer Association

CURE became a big part of our lives in 2011 when Heather was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at 23 years old. Gracie was just 1 and 1/2 years old when her Mom, Heather, went through surgery to remove the brain tumor. Heather's family lived an hour away from the hospital, and CURE made it possible for the family to make the drive everyday with their parking pass assistance. CURE also provided emotional and educational support if needed. They let us know we weren't alone in the experience.

Now it's our turn to help give back to CURE. Please join us in making this possible. Any donation helps, and will go directly to assisting local children and their families in their very difficult time of need.

Gracie supported Heather in May of 2014 when she ran the Buffalo Half Marathon, and has since wanted to join Heather in a race. This will be our first race together. It's a very exciting opportunity for us, and it's all for a great cause!

CURE Childhood Cancer Association is a local Rochester organization that was formed in 1976 by a group of bereaved parents. These parents were pioneers in providing a resource to other parents coping with childhood cancer. The organization was formed with the mission of providing Counseling Understanding Research and Education.

Thirty eight years later, CURE provides financial, educational, emotional and social assistance to families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. CURE is there to meet the very specific needs of these families, who depend upon the services that CURE provides.

When: Saturday, April 25th - registration begins at 8 AM

Where: Seneca Park

Why: To make a difference to local families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. YOU can participate and help to raise money to assist families with parking at the hospital, gifts and food for their families during the holidays, activities and parties that help these children forget what they are going through for a little while and MUCH MUCH more...

We help close to 800 LOCAL families per year! Last year, we saved families over $50,000 in parking fees at the hospital, helped families attend important medical appointments with the help of over $700 in gas gift cards and ensured the family had food through providing over $1,400 in food gift cards. These are just a small handful of the services we provide for our families.

YOU can be providing the funding needed to help these families shoulder the burden they suddenly find themselves under when their child is diagnosed with cancer.
