Fundraising Amount=$1,040.00 ; Goal=$125.00
Donate Now

When: Saturday, April 25th - registration begins at 8 AM

Where: Seneca Park

Why: To make a difference to local families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. YOU can participate and help to raise money to assist families with parking at the hospital, gifts and food for their families during the holidays, activities and parties that help these children forget what they are going through for a little while and MUCH MUCH more...

We help close to 800 LOCAL families per year! Last year, we saved families over $50,000 in parking fees at the hospital, helped families attend important medical appointments with the help of over $700 in gas gift cards and ensured the family had food through providing over $1,400 in food gift cards. These are just a small handful of the services we provide for our families.

YOU can be providing the funding needed to help these families shoulder the burden they suddenly find themselves under when their child is diagnosed with cancer.

CURE Childhood Cancer Association is a local Rochester organization that was formed in 1976 by a group of bereaved parents. These parents were pioneers in providing a resource to other parents coping with childhood cancer. The organization was formed with the mission of providing Counseling Understanding Research and Education.

Thirty eight years later, CURE provides financial, educational, emotional and social assistance to families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. CURE is there to meet the very specific needs of these families, who depend upon the services that CURE provides.

Team Member Stories

Catherine Kwiecien

Help me in fundraising for my team and make a difference in the lives of OUR neighbors.

We have first-hand experience with the generosity of CURE, and we truly cannot thank them enough!  When our daughter Kailee was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at age 2, there were no words to express our feelings.  I distinctly remember Kailee's first chemo treatment in the treatment center.  Linda Morrison came to talk with me.  I don't think I heard more than 1/4 of what she said, but days later, weeks later, I found myself going through the materials she left me.  I looked forward to running into Linda while at treatment.  She seemed like the lifeline that would keep us afloat on the medical side of our lives.  Our family and friends were our rocks and support, but CURE provided something different.  Something as simple as a parking pass made the day begin a little easier.  Suggestions on how to organize the mountain of paperwork we were bringing home weekly helped control some of the stress of the unknown.  It'a all the little things that make a huge difference!  We are walking in honor of Kailee, but as a huge thank you to CURE!
