CURE Childhood Cancer Association is closing out another year of ensuring no family faces a childhood cancer or chronic blood disorder diagnosis alone. CURE is always there for families and provides Counseling, Understanding, Research and Education. We couldn’t do it without your continued support.
“CURE means so much to us and we are beyond grateful for all the things they provide. They were a sense of calm at diagnosis. A time when you had no clue where to turn or who to talk to, a Parent Advocate came into our hospital room, completely understood what we were experiencing and could offer insight that you can’t get anywhere else. They are a sense of “normal” in a community that has a different definition of “normal”.” – a CURE mom
Ensuring families don’t feel alone during a very isolating time is essential to the mission of CURE. We can continue to provide services and support to families as a result of your kindness.
We are working to improve and expand the services we provide to families. Your support has helped us to:
- Offer 9 Parents’ Night Out events since August 2016 with the goal of offering even more outings this coming year to encourage peer-to-peer support
- Meet all the emergency financial assistance needs of our families (over $15,000)
- Offer our Survivor’s Day Picnic to 72 families this past June
- Provide holiday support to 28 families and coordinate assistance to 25 families from other organizations last holiday season
Please contribute to this year’s Holiday Heroes campaign! Hero Recognition ads are each available in four levels: Platinum ($250 – $450), Gold ($100 – $249), Silver ($50 – $99) and Bronze ($25 – $49). The Hero Spotlight ads enable you to customize a message, insert graphics or even a photo of YOUR special hero. Sizes and prices for the Hero Spotlight ads are: 5 x 5 ($800), 3.25 x 5 ($650) or 2.5 x 5 ($475).
All of these ads will be featured in the Messenger Post newspapers throughout Monroe, Wayne, Ontario and Yates Counties. The ads will appear in the Wayne Post, local Messenger Post publications in Monroe County, the Canandaigua Daily Messenger and in the Wayne County Pennysaver in late December near Christmas. Ads will also be available for viewing online on both CURE’S website as well as the Messenger Post website, MPNNow.com, which will allow you to share your ad with friends and family from outside the area.
We ask that you continue your support, reminding these families they do not have to face their journey alone. We will be there for them. Just as we have been there for so many families for over 40 years.
